Social Platforms for Web Data Extraction to Analyse Data

There are many different platforms other than Twitter for web data extraction. People share their views/ ideas/ information and lot more stuff on social networking websites. We can access this data, not on individual basis but in chunks.

Twitter API, Geocoding API and Graph API are the most promising API's which are being used by startups and developers these days.

There is lot of stuff on Twitter, but other API's are still not wisely utilized

Different REST - API

As we know that Social data analysis is a good source of income, different corporations provide us an opportunity to grab their data. Most commonly accepted API's by developers are enlisted here:

  1. Facebook: Graph API
  2. Twitter: Twitter API
  3. Google: Geocoding API
  4. Flick API
  5. LinkedIn API
  6. PInterest API
  7. SoundCloud API
  8. Vimeo API
  9. Foursquare API
  10. Tumblr API
These REST API's provide you with Access Token/ Key/ OAuth Token (different terminologies for different Applications). Developers can register their ongoing/ 'to be launched' App on developers platform for REST API.

This data extraction can be used to implement Big ideas for Web data Analysis. There are three ways for which you can use these API's as a fresher:
  1. For Research
  2. For Start Up
  3. Just for Project
However, Some of the above REST API's do not allow business applications. 

I am not sure weather you will get benefit with these or not, as it all depends upon your ideas and innovation. But one thing what I can promise you is, moving on to this platform will be a great clinch to the career.
